It is a new mosquito aspirator LI-IR-102a with the same aspiration capacity of the CDC-BP but which is more maneuverable (smaller and lighter) with telescoping extension poles to access hard to reach locations. The performance of this new aspirator is comparable with the CDC-BP in the laboratory and in two epidemiological settings. It is extensively being used to collect all types of adult mosquitoes and insects that are resting hard to reach places like ceilings, under the furnitures, etc

This model works best for working with insects in insectary as well as in the field conditions. The collection tube made of polycarbonate which offers durability and flexibility in field collection of insects. It comes with in-built HEPA filter to screenout dust and other allergins.

Description

The Mouth Aspirator features a 18 inch long polycorbonate straight tubewith 1.0cm or 10mm opening. The suction tubing is made of synthetic silicone (medical or pharma grade), and comes with a polypropylene mouthpiece.

The HEPA filter at the base of the 18 inch tube collects the insects and is placed sufficiently forward on the tubing so you can easily see what has been collected. The screen is supported by a machined insert which allows the screen to be replaceable.

Improved mosquito aspirator with a super quality mouthpiece and a HEPA filter to screen-out the dust and allergens while collecting mosquitoes from human and animal dwellings. The aspirator has a mouthpiece (outer diameter 13mm), silicone tubing (60-75cm length) connected to collection chamber with a couple (reduces the diameter of the aspiration at this juncture which in turn prevent mosquitoes escaping freely). The collection chamber has a HEPA filter installed to screen the dust and allergens. The silicone tubing has 60-75cm length and the aspirator straw is 30cm in length. The collection chamber is 10cm length which makes total aspirator straw 40cm in length. The aspirator straw has outer dia 20mm and collection aperture 15mm which allow easy targeting and sucking insects.

Maintenance:

Never use harsh chemicals and alcohol to clean the aspirator or collection chamber. Repeated using chemicals or alcohol makes the aspirator opaque in the long run. Always use a mild shampoo, 50 times diluted to clean or simply use tap water to clean the aspirator. You may use a mild shampoo to clean the silicone tubing.

All parts of the aspirator are available and can be procured separately when needed. 

The Standard Mouth Aspirator features a 12 inch long tube made of 0.5″ OD polycarbonate plastic which is much stronger than acrylic and less fragile than glass. The tubing is made of silicone rubber of high quality, and comes with a PP or glass mouthpiece.

The screen at the base of12-inch inch tube collects the insects and is placed sufficiently forward on the tubing so you can easily see what has been collected. The screen is supported by a machined insert which allows the screen to be replaceable and acts as a screen to prevent entry of dust and allergins to mouth.

Description

To draw insects into the collecting chamber, most aspirators or pooters are designed so the user must suck air to create negative pressure. Some insects, such as ants and , can emit particles harmful to the human body. There are also cases when desired insects are collected from feces or carcasses. Our HB-type aspirators decrease risk of swallowing hazardous particles by blowing air into aspirator with a hand-held syringe bulb instead of sucking air from aspirator. Insect pick-up straw can be turned to any direction. Easy to adjust angle between vial and insect pick-up straw.

Four vials (DP0036, DP0079-5) are included for insect collecting and insect storing use.

insectPRO Backpack aspirator is one of the very important battery operated aspirator for the collection of insects in enmasse for both agricultural and medical entomological research. The uniqueness of the backpack aspirator lies in carrying and collection of the insects. All electrical and other components are stuffed in a portable backpack bag while the collection aspirator can be held to the bag (as shown in the picture). The total weight to the aspirator ranges from 5.9 kg to 9.9 kg depending on the type of battery that we intended to carry with the unit. The aspirator is designed to run from 4.5v to 12v batteries. The offered flexibility in battery offerings is particularly helpful to reduce weight of the aspirator and to choose the right battery for the use. For example, to pull small insects like mosquitoes 4.5v batteries are good to go, while sucking flying insects of agricultural importance like moths and other lepidopteran insects 12v batteries are particularly useful. Furthermore, the aspirator straw is colored to black as approaching aspirator straw can’t be seen by insects thereby facilitating quick collections. Furthermore, the extended aspirator straw need not be carried around in hand. The backpack unit has a provision to hand the aspirator straw so that hands free carrying the unit is possible.
